Meet Magal Security Systems' Executive Management Team.
Dror Sharon - CEO
Mr. Sharon joined Magal in June 2018.
His appointment followed a successful career as president and CEO at Controp Precision Technology Ltd., a company specializing in developing, manufacturing and selling Electro Optical and Precision Motion Control Systems for the global defense and homeland security markets. During Mr. Sharon's tenure and under his leadership, Controp’s revenue grew significantly while maintaining high profit margins. Prior to that, Mr. Sharon served in various positions including president and CEO, at Opgal Optronics Ltd.
Mr. Sharon holds an MBA degree from Derby University, UK and a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (Dean’s award of excellence) from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.
Yaniv Shachar – Deputy Chief Executive Officer & General Manager Magal Project Division
Mr. Shachar joined Magal in June 2015.
Prior to his time with Magal, Mr. Shachar worked for Logic Industries Ltd. (a daughter company of AGT International) as project, program and division manager, leading large-scale homeland security projects and operations in the Middle East.Prior to Logic. Mr. Shachar served 17 years in the Israeli Navy.
Mr. Shachar is a graduate of the Executive M.B.A. program of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he majored in integrative management. He also holds a B.A. in Economics and Communications from Haifa University.
Brian Rich – Chief Technology Officer & Business Development Manager
Mr. Rich started with the company in 1981 as a senior engineer and moved through progressive levels of responsibility in technical and operational roles. He has served in his current position as CTO and Deputy CEO since May 2015.
Mr. Rich’s prior experience includes three years in a research position with Computing Devices Company, a Canadian defense systems contractor, and three years as vice president of Engineering and Operations with Intelligent Detection Systems Inc. where he was responsible for development of advanced trace chemical detection systems used for detection of explosives and narcotics. Mr. Rich is a member of the IEEE and has served on the Executive Committee of the IEEE International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology since 2000.
Mr. Rich holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Kobi Vinokur – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Vinokur joined Magal in 2016.
Mr. Vinokur previously served for three years as chief financial officer of Miya (Arison Group), a global provider of comprehensive water efficiency solutions and a water utilities operator. Prior to that, he served in several key leadership positions at Brink's Company; as an executive director at Shapira Films, one of the leading film distribution and production companies in Israel; and as head of treasury at the Ministry of Defence of Israel. In 2016, the Israeli CFO Forum honoured Mr. Vinokur with its annual CFO Excellence award.
Mr. Vinokur is a certified public accountant in the United States and Israel. He holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics (magna cum laude) from Haifa University and a M.B.A. (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University. Mr. Vinokur is also a graduate of Harvard Business School's Leadership Development Program and Stanford University’s Mergers and Acquisitions executive program.
Doron Kerbel – Vice President, General Counsel & Company Secretary
Mr Kerbel joined Magal in July 2015.
Previously, Mr. Kerbel served for more than eight years as legal counsel at Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESLT) Aerospace Division. Mr. Kerbel has extensive experience in advising on variety of commercial legal issues, M&A, and PFI and BOM projects, both locally and internationally. Prior to his work in Elbit Systems, Mr. Kerbel worked as an associate lawyer in M. Firon & Co. and as senior legal counsel for International Law at the Israeli Embassy to the Netherlands.
Mr. Kerbel holds a LL.B. from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya and a LL.M. (with distinction) from the International Law School, University of Amsterdam.
Fabien Haubert – Senstar Corp. Managing Director
Mr. Haubert joined Magal in 2018 from a major UK-based video security solution provider, where he was Regional Director – EMEA South. Prior to this he worked with several companies in the areas of video management, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control and system integration. He has extensive experience in sales management with many years of responsibility for the EMEA region.
Fabien has a technical background with an M.Sc. in Telecom engineering, as well as a Masters degree in Management and Strategy of International Business. He speaks French, English, Spanish, and Italian, and has a working knowledge of Dutch.
Jeremy Weese P.Eng. – Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Weese joined the company in 1999 in a design engineering role.
During his tenure, Mr. Weese has moved through progressive levels of responsibility within the research and development department. Prior to taking the position of SVP and COO, Mr. Weese was responsible for the company’s product portfolio and research and development activities as vice president of engineering. Mr. Weese has served in his current role as senior vice president and chief operating officer since April 2016. Mr. Weese is a Professional Engineer and member of the IEEE.
Mr. Weese holds a B.A.Sc. in Computer Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Ottawa.
Carlos García Almeida – General Manager Latin America
Mr. Garcia joined Magal in February 2013.
Before joining Magal, Mr. Garcia served as general manager of Prosegur Mexico, which was preceded by several leadership and general management roles in leading security organizations, among them UTC Fire & Security and Tyco Fire & Security.
Mr. Garcia holds a degree in Telecom Engineering and has successfully participated in various executive programs, including the Management Development Program (D-1) from the IPADE Business School.
Gord Loney – Vice President of Sales - APAC
Mr. Loney joined Magal in 1995.
Originally responsible for product sales in Canada, the Middle East and Africa, Mr. Loney later assumed responsibility for strategic OEM accounts and the Far East. In 2016, Mr. Loney was appointed as Vice President for Sales - Asia Pacific, in which he is responsible for the establishment of a company office in Clark Freeport Zone in the Philippines, from which he is leading a support and sales team to better serve the high growth Asian market.
Mr. Loney is an engineering graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and served 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Miguel A. Lopez Romero – Managing Director Iberia & Morocco
Mr. Lopez joined Magal in 2009, appointed to open and develop the Iberian subsidiary of the group.
Prior to joining Magal, Mr. Lopez served as director and partner director in several well reputed companies related to security.
Mr. Lopez holds a B.A. in Business Administration and a M.B.A. in Sales and Marketing. Mr. Lopez also holds an Advanced Degree in Security and he is Director of Security by the Ministry of Interior of Spain.
Kristen Cory - Vice President of Sales – North America
Ms. Cory joined Magal in January 2019.
Prior to Senstar, Ms. Cory held the position of Director of Business Development with Hikvision USA, the world’s largest provider of video surveillance solutions, where she focused on the demand creation side of generating rapid business growth. Prior to Hikvision, Ms. Cory controlled operations (sales, technical, support, etc.) for Raytec Systems, Inc. a high-end security LED lighting solution for the enterprise and oil & gas industries
Ms. Cory studied Criminology and Psychology at Carleton University.
